At speeds of 200 mph, some of the most fearless drivers in the world will bring heart-stopping, wheel-to-wheel racing back to New England.

Commissioner of the MDIFW will lead Q&A at Sportsman Forum

Chandler Woodcock, Commissioner of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will lead a public question-and-answer session during a unique Sportsman’s Forum hosted by the Windham-Gorham Rod and Gun Club and the Sebago Lakes Angler’s Association on Wednesday, August 10.

Commissioner Woodcock will answer questions about his role in the Department’s efforts and answer questions about hunting, fishing and outdoors-related topics in Maine.

The public is invited to participate in the free event, which will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the Windham-Gorham Rod and Gun Club on Tow Path Road in Gorham. Dessert, coffee and soft drinks will be available.

Deputy Commissioner Andrea Erskine, a 25-year veteran of MDIF&W, will also be on hand to answer questions about the Department.

Gorham is proud to be celebrating the 275th anniversary of it's founding.  The entire weekend will be full of fun, rides, and history tours to take us back to our roots.  The events will take place at the Narragansett school on Main St. Memorial Day weekend, May 27- 30. 

The amusement rides open at 4:00 pm Friday evening along witth music by Fiddle Jam and the Don Roy Trio.  The founders festival officially kicks off at 9:00 am Saturday with an opening ceremony were a descendent of Gorham's first settler, John Phinney will be recognized as the festival's honoree.  Capt.

The members of the Falmouth Historical Society will be sprucing up the Heritage Museum in anticipation of our Grand Opening on June 11 for the 2011 season. We welcome anyone who can help us make the museum and it's grounds 'pristine'!  Besides free food, you'll be in the company of a great bunch of working board members who enjoy fun as they focus on providing the Falmouth Community with a valuable resource!

Join us this sunday, May 22, at 10 am until..... From outdoor cleanup to windows, painting and indoor brooming, all help would be appreciated. To 'sign up', come in your working clothes to 60 Woods Road, Falmouth or for more information, call the Fistals at 781-2527.

4th Annual Maine Walk for Epilepsy

4th Annual Maine Walk for Epilepsy

Join us on May 15 in Saco at 36 Tasker St., Young Elementary School for a 2 mile walk to help support the Epilepsy Foundation.  Registration begins at 8:30 AM and the walk begins at 10:00 AM.  All proceeds raised from the walk will go into supporting the more  than 144,000 people living with epilepsy and seizure disorders in the four state area. Our mission is to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences and to work toward prevention, control and a cure for epilepsy through advocacy, education, research and support services. 

Registration-8:30 AM

Walk 10:00 AM

Young Elementary School, 36 Tasker St. Saco, Me.

Enjoy food and entertainment after the walk.  Pets on leashes are welcomed.
